Hello hello! Life’s been a whirlwind lately, an Hello hello! Life’s been a whirlwind lately, and unfortunately I’ve been neglecting the gram 😬 I’m super stoked to share though that I’m embracing the ‘Now or Never’ mindset and am heading to Bali for a surf trip at the end of June! 🏄‍♀️ I’m fully booked up before the trip until the end of July. I might be bias, but I gotta agree with you here R I might be bias, but I gotta agree with you here Ralf. We all love good design but have you stopped to think about the effect of bad design? For example, maybe it: - affects your credibility - contributes to loss of sales - forms a negative perception or gut feeling about your brand What do you think people are thinking, feeling and saying about your brand’s because of its aesthetic? Do you think your message is being received as intended? If the answer is yes, go you!! ⭐️ If the answer is a meek no, don’t worry! You WILL get there! 🤗 Brands grow and evolve over time - it’s not an overnight process. With a plan, some budgeting and some guidance you can begin to shape the brand and aesthetic appeal you really want. I know that design can feel like a difficult cost to justify and that it is almost NEVER included in annual business budgets, but I feel confident in saying you WONT regret it. But will you regret NOT investing in design? The potential missed opportunities? Maybe! Client spotlight on @wander.and.wild this week as Client spotlight on @wander.and.wild this week as they show their goodies at @life_instyle tradeshow! If those retailers know what’s what they’ll be stocking up on this wholesome and adventurous brand. 🤎 A little background: Wander + Wild is a local Sunshine Coast business that inspires kiddos (and their loved ones) to #findthewild through their timeless, earth-inspired outdoor wear. I was extremely honoured to be invited to to be a part of this project during its inception. Working with the brief from owners Kirsty and Rani I set about putting together a brand identity that would work across their range of outdoor apparel, accessories and packaging. I created a classic typographic logo that flexes between horizontal, vertical or stamp layouts depending on the application but most proudly it sits on the outer of their kids gumboots. The cross brand icon sits neatly in small areas like the boot tags to add a playful touch and to solidify the brand’s identity. Finally, a range of four nature inspired patterns were designed to line the inner of their cute as a button boots. (Swipe to see an early draft for the buzzy bee!) Hey, it’s me. Showing up here is becoming more a Hey, it’s me. Showing up here is becoming more and more uncomfortable as I get older and the captions definitely aren’t flowing so easily anymore. It feels pretty self indulgent/embarrassing/pointless at times. But when I reflect on how it has helped me connect with so many incredible people, it’s definitely been worthwhile. As much as I hang shit on this app, I have to admit it does also help me reach my business goals. It’s a necessary evil in some ways. So, I will continue posting and pushing through the ‘ick’. Bringing design content to the feed but also just life stuff. I’m not a big business, there are no staff, it’s just me and I’d be bored to an early death if I posted about design 100% of the time. I think it helps for small/personal brands like mine to share a little bit about themselves. It gives your audience the chance to see if you might fit with their personality and company culture. If nothing else hopefully it helps you to get to know me, encourages a chat and makes the instasphere more varied for you too. (The top tier content about my new pickle jar really had you all going). Please strike up convos, slide into dms, get the chat started, let me know if you also struggle with this insta business. This place is a vacuum of space and time without the connections.
