The Process:

A few notes to keep in mind:
• Bookings must be made at least 7 days prior to the Design Day.
• Allow time to complete the Design Day prep-work. It is advisable to plan for a 2-3 week window before the booking date. If you are on a tight deadline please get in touch to discuss your booking.
• You will need to be available throughout the Design Day via email.

02 / Prep Work

Once your Design Day is booked I will be in touch to organise our first consultation. During this consultation we will get to know each other, discuss your business and strategize the task list for the Design Day. During this consultation I will outline your 'homework' which might look like inspiration hunting, copywriting or image gathering. This pre work ensures that you get the most out of your Design Day.

03 / Design Day

Now it’s time to get down to the business of design! You will need to be virtually available throughout the day so I can present designs to you and you can provide feedback. By the day’s end you will have professional brand materials or maybe a beautiful new website and the satisfaction of crossing projects off your to-do list!

Previous design day outcomes

Design days are good for:

- Tackling a list of design jobs you’ve had on your plate for ages!
- Smaller projects where you have a clear vision for the outcome.
- Business owners who need basic branding or a small website to get moving quickly.
- Projects on a tight timeline.

Design days may not be a good fit if:

Unfortunately, day rates are not for everyone.

As tempting as it is to receive design in one day, there are instances where it is better to take more time to complete the process, particularly if you are a product based business that will need designs for retail packaging, clothing labels or products. These are big decisions that require a lot of thought, testing and care to ensure your financial investments in physical products are protected and your brand stays strong and consistent in the long term.

A design day is also not ideal if you are unsure of the visual direction of your project. If you feel you would like more time and help to develop your brand style and clarity then a full Branding Design package is for you. This package includes more consultation time and design exploration for us to discover your business goals, strategy and style.

A design day does not suit if:

- Your project requires big decisions and a lot of thought, testing and care. Particularly product based businesses.
- You are unsure of the visual direction of your project.
- Your design style is more complex and requires multiple graphics or illustrative components.
- You do not wish to make on-the-day decisions
- You have a large scale branding or website project.

Which projects suit a design day?

We can focus on one job or combine a few. Here are some ideas:
- website design improvements or new pages
- a new basic website (1-3 pages)
- a simple brand identity including logo, palette, and typography
- logo/brand refreshes
- social media templates
- business cards, note cards, swing tags, stickers
- pricing guide or info pdfs
- simple packaging (stickers, mailer bags, box design, label design)

Process and Price

To prepare for a hugely productive day requires some prep work in the form of inspiration gathering, writing content, collecting images etc plus a 1 hour consultation before the day. After the Design day you receive 2 weeks of email support relating to the work we accomplished where you can ask me any questions and I can follow up with any training or provide suggestions as required.

Included:

-7 hours design time
-1 hour consultation
- 1 hour prep work + research
- One additional hour design time to perfect finished files
- Follow up support
